On June 22, 2026, SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, officially announced the conclusion of a multi-billion-dollar contract with the artificial intelligence startup Reflection. According to the official press release, the deal is worth up to $6.3 billion.
Under the terms of the agreement, SpaceX will provide Reflection with exclusive access to its vast computing capabilities and the data center infrastructure it has established based on its Starlink ground stations and specialized Arctic servers.
Infrastructure for "Breakthrough AI"
Reflection has gained notoriety for its developments in neural networks with "autonomous reasoning" (autonomous reasoning), which require an unprecedented amount of computing resources for training and operation.
"Cooperating with SpaceX is not just about renting servers, it's about integrating into the most advanced logistics and technology network in the world," said Reflection's CEO during today's press conference. "Access to the infrastructure that supports thousands of Starlink satellites in real time will allow us to reduce the training time of our models by dozens of times."
A space giant as a cloud provider
For SpaceX, this deal marks an important strategic shift. Previously, the company focused on launching rockets and providing internet services, but the deployment of the global Starlink network has allowed the company to create a distributed cloud infrastructure that is too large for its own needs.
“We have built the most reliable data network on the planet,” a SpaceX spokesperson said of the deal. “Now we are monetizing our infrastructure by providing it to those building the future of AI. $6.3 billion is just the beginning of our investment in the high-performance computing sector.”
Market Reaction
Wall Street analysts have already called the contract a “chess move” that significantly strengthens SpaceX’s financial position ahead of upcoming ambitious projects such as a Mars landing. AI-related stocks reacted to the news with gains, and experts note that such a collaboration could create a new player in the cloud computing market that could challenge giants like Amazon (AWS) and Microsoft (Azure).
What does this mean for Reflection?
The $6.3 billion deal provides Reflection with the necessary "fuel" for ambitious scaling. By the end of 2026, the company is expected to launch its new neural network platform, powered by SpaceX, which the developers claim can solve complex engineering problems in an autonomous mode.
The industry is closely monitoring this alliance: if the experiment is successful, SpaceX could quickly become the main provider of the “digital foundation” for the entire AI market, using its satellite network not only for communication but also for global data processing.
